Latifolia

Latifolia was a collaborative project with Sofie Boon in which we were looking for an experimental way of interacting between text and image - meaning that the images couldn’t repeat what was written in the text.

The illustration system in our book was inspired on the operations of a computer. The DNA of the text (the characters, paragraphs...) is translated by the coding system to usable information which, in a second phase, would determine the colors of the drawings. So the flowers tell the tale by the colors they wear.
